Into the Golden Mean ~ APT 2014 Exhibition

Into the Golden Mean is an art exhibition to be held in February 2014 for APT members at the Fort Worth Arts Community Center (formerly known as the Ft. Worth Modern Museum) and will include both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of contemporary and fine art. These art works should embody, imply, or include the Golden Ratio or logorithmic ratio of 3-5-8 found so abundantly in nature and also known as the Golden Mean, either literally or metaphorically. The exhibit celebrates this mathematical perfection of design that is prevalent around us; within the human body, the way leaves grow from a plant stalk, in pinecones or shells, and all throughout the universe from fractals to galaxies. In philosophy, the Golden Mean is the desirable middle between two extremes or a quest for the perfect balance, and beauty derived from symmetry, proportion, and harmony.

For the purpose of this show, either the spiral, or the philosophical interpretation of the Golden Mean must be present in each work submitted. Both representational and abstract works are welcome. One of our Featured Artists, Nic Noblique, will be presenting awards along with our honorary jurors. Download Prospectus here.
