Events & News
at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas
Open 5pm -10pm daily
November 1 - January 6, 2013

As the sun sets, the Fair Park in Dallas, Texas transforms into a luminescent spectacle where 22 lanterns weave a rainbow of light around the fairgrounds. Visitors enter through an illuminated red tunnel and explore each festival area, where onsite artists weave palm leaves into small dragons. At the center, a lagoon twinkles with blossoming lotus flowers, green frogs, and a recreation of the Statue of Liberty, which adds an American touch to the traditional Chinese festivities.

Greetings!

It's been a busy month preparing for our first exhibition at
Gallery @ 1300. We hope you will attend the Opening Reception on December 1st, from 4 to 8 pm.
During this month of Thanksgiving, I want to extend a very special thanks to Sharon Shero for all her work in miraculously squeezing 38 works of art into our brochure, plus our banner, and many thanks to Audra Noblique for all of her work on the invitation. I am grateful to be able to work with so many truly talented artists who are exhibiting! Thanks to Rusty Hill and to Jamie Lamar of LuminArte Gallery for jurying the art into this show.

Please click on all underlined links for more information, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

Sincerely,
Cassandra Fink, President

microcosm
MY-kroh-koz-uhm, From Greek mikros kosmos, "small world."

"A smaller, representative system having analogies to a larger system."

Our 2012 Microcosm APT Membership Exhibition at
Gallery @ 1300 on Dragon Street in Dallas is a five week exhibition of work on the theme of microcosm or minimalism. Mark your calendar!

Saturday, December 1, Opening Reception, 4 - 8 pm
Friday, December 15 - Closing Reception, 5 - 7pm

Michael Tillman will open our first reception with his beautiful classical guitar performance. Come share in the fine art, great music, and holiday cheer with us!

We ask you to forward the eBlast you will soon receive to your lists and clients. More postcard invitations can be picked up from Cassandra. Although this is a small show, we have 19 of our artist members participating.

Rusty Hill, the owner of Gallery @ 1300, is a pioneer on Dragon Street, operating a successful photography studio there for over 20 years. We are excited to collaborate with him on this show held in his small two-room, very elegant "micro gallery" studio. A big thanks to Trent Mann for providing the art for our PR.
